Wrong-way driver charged in crash on SR-51 savannah wrong way driver

Wrong-way driver was drunk, police say. Marlon Johnson charged with DUI, Forgie, Zepp, and Adkin were all treated for injuries at Savannah hospitals and released.

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department says a wrong-way driver is in custody for hitting a Metro police car early Wednesday morning on Hwy 204 near King George Boulevard.

One minor injury was reported. No other details are known at this time.

One eastbound lane of 204 was closed between King George Boulevard and Sweetwater Station Drive for about an hour, but it is now back open to traffic.
