Windows Thread, Reinstalling TCP/IP Protocol Driver in Technical; Got a problem with the Bursars machine 15th January 2007, PM 7 the IP Network Address Translator and TCP/IP Protocol Driver are missing.

Just been looking at my laptop that has Vista installed and theres nothing wrong with that tcp/ip protocol driver no marks against the entry.

Vista driver tcpip.sys info is file version 6.0600.16627 located in C: Windows System32 drivers would it be possible to find out does windows 7 use this same driver version and i then could copy it onto usb stick and transfer it onto the win 7 laptop

EDIT Probs wont work due to 1 tcpip.sys being a 32 bit version and other a 64 bit version

well, I tried the netsh winsock reset catalog rather than run the fix as i didnt know if it was ok for windows 7 i took the manual way with netsh int ip reset

still got the same info like yellow mark and the service is started but not working properly. even did a sfc /scannow which was ok. I ve checked the system32/drivers folder, and tcpip.sys file is there so it s not like it s not in the correct folder

Well i checked the 4 services below and all 4 are set on automatic and started, the only thing that looked different was the Remote Procedure Call RPC service was all greyed out the buttons to start/stop/pause/resume/ were not active, which is strange.

Another one which i know the broadband dongle uses is Remote Access Connection Manager and that service has started manual but those buttons are greyed out as well. Don t know if this is worth mentioning but one service i did notice that was disabled was

Net.Tcp Port Sharing. In device manager under /network adapters it says Atheros AR285 Wireless Network Adapter so is it that you mean i have to reinstall..

DHCP Client- DNS Client - Remote Procedure Call RPC - TCP/IP Netbios helper

Go to the task manager, click on services. Scroll down until you see what you want. Right click and choose start or start program.

I have the same issue except I m running Win XP Pro SP3 32 bit and on my PC.  I ve tried all these remedies and a few of my own but still cannot fix the problem.  I m half tempted on doing a reinstall of Win but I d rather not.  Let me know if you fixed

To avoid confusion and because this thread is old, please begin your own, new thread about YOUR specific problem and computer. State your current IE version and full Windows version e.g., WinXP SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2; Vista SP2; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7;

Win7 SP1; Win7 64-bit; Win7 64-bit SP1 in your first post. Thank you.
