When playing a Windows Media file or DVD that contains captions or subtitles, you can show the information in Windows Media Player.

Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Media Player.

I did that and the case is still the same.

I thought about the subtitles and went to check them.

It seems that they are not in my language but in the same one as displayed on the. avi file.

If it is possible for you to tell me how to configure my win to read them in my language Bulgarian it would be great.

Absolutely the same problem.. Please help i try with diffrent players KMP, BSPlayer. still the same strange simbols. And i am also Bulgarian .

I have VLC media player and had a problem with Russian subtitles. I changes  encoding in Preferences: Subtitles to Cyrilic and it s all good. Thanks Velislav.
